Hello old friends and followers!
I'm able to check in again and see how everything is going here on dA! As you may have seen in my status post, I handed in my first module of my degree on Monday. I'm proud of the final product, I did my best and I got some good feedback, so even though I'm a little conflicted about certain elements of it, I remain hopeful that it'll get me a decent grade. I've certainly learned a lot, and I suppose that is what matters!
Now, with this over with and me on a break before the next module brief (well, mainly, I still have a report and an illustration portfolio to get on with but it's a bit more chill than tirelessly sewing trousers). I don't know how long this peace will last because I know exactly nothing about the next module! From what I can tell, it will be a little more specific to costume so I'll hopefully be able to go mega historical with it, but hey, we'll have to see.
Anyway, I'm going to use my time off to make a few things for myself, do some artwork, and work on novels. I have been making quite a lot recently, although I haven't had chance to get many pictures, as they've either been given away or handed in. I will try to get some though soon! I made a pair of fancy time travel magpie trousers for my university module, and a green velvet military jacket for my friend's christmas present.
ANYWAY, ON TO THE IMPORTANT STUFF!
I am finally going to introduce you lot to my newest collaborative work soon!
With my time off, I am able to do a little more work to some WIPs I've had to set aside recently. I'm hoping to upload a few sketches and paintings and info on the main elements of 'The Beaumont and Elscrook Mysteries'. Since I consider dA my most personal platform, I'll probably go into a lot more detail on here than I will on Facebook and Instagram, mostly because I don't want to give away too much on the platforms we'll mainly be promoting on when it's ready to be properly announced, but here I might find some interesting crit and opinions and it would be cool to be able to actually share some of the work I've been doing that I'm not really 'allowed' to put on Facebook and instagram! I hope you guys enjoy it, I'm definitely super excited for this project!

Nostalgia in the Apocalypse
Hello there, dA! Long time an no see, huh? I'm not sure why I'm writing this exactly, because I can't say with any certainty that I'm coming back, but every so often, I do log back in to lurk. I was talking about this site a while ago with a friend, and got a bit of a nostalgia hit because I used to have a lot of great and encouraging friends here, and it's been a long time, so I figured a brief trip down memory lane, at least, wouldn't hurt. I know I left kind of without warning. Essentially, I found dA a little hard to keep on top of for a while (entirely my own fault, though I did enjoy all of the long conversations I had with some of you :heart: ) and when I came back, everything had changed and a lot of people had gone, so I kind of drifted away too. To be honest, I joined the rest of humanity and got normal social media. I know some of you follow my insta where I'm most active and I appreciate that a lot :heart: I also did the Facebook thing for a while, but nowadays I'm
Where has everyone gone?!
So I know I'm nowhere near as active as I used to be. That's largely the fault of University and theatre and basically all of the extra stuff I'm trying to do to kickstart my career and build my portfolio, I hope you understand. I've been involved with like four shows this year, it's mad stuff.
I've been on this site for like 8 years. I was here when I wrote terrible fanfiction and drew loads of art for a webcomic that never made it past chapter one. I'm never going to properly leave.
See the other reason I don't come back that much is that it's gone really dead here. You noticed too right? I'm dropping back in mostly for about five people

So, I think I have worn out the 'sorry for my absence' excuses.
However, I'm going to give this another shot, for a lot of reasons. I'm going to try to come back to dA.
I think it's changed since the last time I was here, it doesn't seem so big. People are gradually moving to Instagram, Patreon etc...and I must admit I'm guilty of it myself.
But I missed our little community, my friends, long talks in the comment section about life and art and fiction, and mostly, I missed your art!
So many new stories and styles and directions since I've been gone! You've all been very busy!
However, I'll explain why I had to go, and what's changed.

Hello!
Well, first of all I'm still buzzing. I'm sure you saw my status update earlier but I found out yesterday that the university have given me an unconditional offer for a place studying Costume Design and Practice in September!!!! I totally can't wait, it's an amazing course and a great uni, and everyone was so welcoming-I got on great with the lecturers and everything. And the best thing is, it's a step closer to my dream. My goal is to make my living creating costume or bridal wear, and this should put me in the best position to do so!
