Description

Prepare yourselves my dear watchers, this is a long one, but read... it'll be worth it! ;P

So, the prompt this time round in :iconthought-up: was "The biggest dream came true". Naturally, my first reaaction is Cye and James (how is it ever not?), but I decided to do something a bit less obvious, and Lady Dawnstarre started jumping up and down screaming "DRAW ME YOU IMBECELE!!!!" so I did. I ended up discovering a new style too, I've never really done a stained glass window like this before. It took two full nights of painting and inking, perhaps just shy of nine hours! Anyway, materials used were pencil (mechanical, HB), crappy cartridge paper (but the crinklyness ended up making it more stained glass like so yeah), about three different fineliners and watercolour paints. ^_^

So down to the deep-and-meaningful. I'll bet you're wondering by now what this has to do with the prompt! I'll paste the prologue to Ezlorea's newly re-written story below this, so you can see context.
Two greatest dreams of Ezlorea's feature here, although they're not too obvious. She wants to avenge the family she never knew and the kingdom she should have been Queen of, hense why she is dressed as a knight and her family's emblem of the star appears a lot in the picture. She also dreams of being remembered a hero, which is why she is pictured in a stained glass window. The roses are to do with ehr name, Ezlorea Rose. Ezlorea means (don't question me!! It's elvish now) "lady of the flowers", and her particular flower shared her middle name. So if you translate all of her name, it means "Lady of the Rose of the Dawn's Star"... in case you wanted to know... The leaves in the boarder represent her forest home of Zenicas. ^_^

Here's the preface, it used to be called Heart of Glass, but I'm not sure what to call it now... This might be my next full time project after Leora Lacey anyway, so let me know what you think! :)

Preface, a legacy of honour

My family were once the proud sons and daughters of the Dawn’s Star, a light that shone when all other stars had shied away into the heavens, taking refuge from one far superior to them. The Dawn’s Star had no fear, it would glow twice as bright when the sun came out as it did in the dead of night, it would not lay down its pride. The Dawn’s Star shone in honour of the family who took their name from it, and not for the Gods who wished it to depart from the skies in the daylight hours. There is something beautiful sometimes about the unnatural.
And then there was a day when Xaia, the elven city of moonlight fell, and it’s people, or what remained of them, fled to the east. My father and mother, the King and Queen Dawnstarre fell too on that dark day in the Battle of Midnight, a noble death, but a tragic one, at the hands of the heartless. After that night, the Dawn’s Star seemed to give up hope… It fell from it’s celestial throne and was never seen again, and it’s city and it’s family lay in ruins.
However, there was still a faint glimmer of hope which shone like an echo of the star beneath the leafy canopy of the new elven village of Zenicas, home to the veterans and survivors of the battle. This hope came in the form of the King and Queen’s twin daughters, only three years old and left cluelessly in the care of a fhearie whom their parents called a distant cousin. The Fhearie, whose name was Luthen, raised us and taught us to use magic and skill like the glorious Mage class of old Xaia. She told us folk stories, sang songs in her light fluttery voice and cooked the most wonderful meals from the things my sister and I hunted and foraged from the forest surroundings of the village. Our childhood was blissful, and our teenage years peaceful… And then on our nineteenth birthday, everything changed.
The Dawnstarre’s legacy was always one of doom and tragedy, and perhaps our people were naïve to think anything more cheerful.

Wow it's beautiful! And such a powerful image too, you managed to pull off the stained glass effect brilliantly and I love all the details like the rose and the star and then your description, it is indeed a big dream and I hope it comes true for her!

I like your extract too, especially the beginning about the star shining twice as bright in the light of the sun, it's sort of admirable in its pride :D
